star rating  We spent the better part of a day traveling from Stresa to Marco's kitchen for an interesting and fun cooking experience. We are two couples approaching our eighth... read more decade. Marco is very personable and welcoming. Also met his family in their lovely home and surroundings. It is literally being in the middle of the woods. He suggested a menu based on our tastes and everything was ready to be prepared when we arrived. We made pasta and sauce along with veal rollups stuffed with ham, sage and cheese. Simmered in an additional tomato ragu. The highlight was the chocolate torte with homemade toffee and a chocolate ganache. And he also provided copies of the recipes. Highly recommend!

star rating  This was our first cooking class and we didn’t know what to expect being a family of five from the USA. We have two boys ages 11 and... read more 8 and a five year old daughter. So we were a little nervous. Would the kids get bored? Would our current cooking skills be enough to follow along? Would the chef’s English be good enough to understand?

Chef Marco did a great job putting us at ease and explaining the process In a way that was not intimidating. Two days before he contacted us to make a menu that suited us. We chose three items from 10-12 that he was suggesting so it felt tailored to us. We chose ravioli with spinach ricotta, swordfish, and a chocolate spoon dessert. When we arrived at his house in the forest he gave us a quick tour and we had a coffee to get to know each other. Next he brought out five aprons and we started making the dough. At this point we were completely relaxed and having a great time kneading dough.

The whole experience lasted around five hours which at first I thought would be too long for the children but it went fast and they were never bored.

We highly recommend and would consider doing this in a larger family group with grandparents as well. Thanks for a great time Ch

And so knowledgeable to answer all our questions about ingredients and techniques. The cost was entirely reasonable--and Marco did the clean up. Should we have opportunity to return to Italy, we will most definitely ask him again!

My girlfriend and I were the only people on the experience, but that was no problem for Marco at all. For us it was great because so Marco focussed only... read more on the two of us, and we chatted the whole time with him. He picked us up at the train station and we went shopping for the cooking. Marco let us choose what we would like to cook. The cooking was pleasant and we did not feel rushed or anything. In the end, we stayed half an hour longer than planned. The food tasted amazing, and we had wine with it. We learned a few new things. Afterwards, we wished we chose something a bit more complex, because we didn't felt that challenged. So if you decide to do the experience, just ask Marco. He knows over 70 different traditional Italian dishes. Also nice that he knows a lot of vegetarian and vegan versions of the dishes as well.

My wife and I had a fantastic day learning how to cook with Marco. He taught us how to make homemade Pasta, Involtini and Tiramisa, and we all sat down... read more and had a great meal together with everything we created. It's hosted at his home up in the hills, and made for a really personal cooking experience. We'd highly recommend it!
